Solar Battery Storage

Energy storage systems allow home or business owners the ability to capture any excess energy they generate through their solar system in a solar battery storage unit, which consequently allow for that energy to be used during times of high energy usage, bad weather, or at nighttime. Thus, by using this excess energy, solar battery storage owners are able to depend less on buying electricity from the grid, and can reduce their electricity bills further, giving them more energy independence.
We provides both retrofit and all-in one solutions for our battery options, using various technologies from well known brands LG, SolaX and Tesla Energy. Our ranges all offer full system monitoring solutions, thus providing the ability to track energy usage, and discover trends, easily accessible from computer, tablet and phone devices.

How does a solar battery work?

- The sun’s radiation is captured through a solar PV system, the inverter then converting it to useable AC electricity
- Excess energy is fed into the storage system, which can be used during the night, bad weather or during periods of high usage
- If the grid goes down, the energy storage system can continue to provide energy to the household (when backup equipment is fitted)

What is a home battery system?

A home battery system typically includes a battery and an inverter, paired with existing or new rooftop solar panels. Not all battery systems provide backup power. If you want a home battery system that provides electricity in the event of a blackout, additional equipment may need to be installed. (Ask a qualified System Provider to include this option when obtaining a quote).
The system works by storing excess generation from your solar panels ready for use at other times - such as during cloudy periods or when the sun goes down. By storing and using more of the energy generated by your solar system, your household can draw less energy from the grid, saving you money on your energy bill.

Is a battery/solar right for me?

If you already have solar or are thinking about making the switch, adding a battery system could help you get the most out of your solar system. Different systems suit different needs so it’s important to talk to a qualified System Provider when doing your research. As with any significant purchase, we recommend talking to more than one System Provider and obtaining multiple quotes.

How much will I save?

How much you could save on your energy bills depends on a number of factors including the output of your solar system and capacity of the battery, as well as the amount of energy your household uses and what time of day you use energy the most. A qualified System Provider can help you calculate your potential savings as part of their analysis.

Can I afford it?

It’s important for all households to consider whether the savings they expect to see on their energy bills cover the cost of the purchase of the battery, over the life of the battery. System Providers can provide you with an idea of your anticipated savings. To get an idea of how much a battery system can cost, contact us.
